JOB DESCRIPTION

1. Perform those flight instructor duties authorized by the GCAA Regulations in accordance with the approved Training Manuals.

2. Teach a range of GCAA Pilot Licence courses within the scope of approval

3. Conduct required synthetic flight instruction

4. Conduct timely briefing and de briefing to the trainee pilots and generate the grades for each flight undertaken.

5. Ensure all students understand and practice all aspects of Flight Safety.

6. Regularly schedule each assigned student to ensure satisfactory progress through the course and immediately inform CFI of any delays in training or unsatisfactory progress.

7. Responsible for accurately maintaining all appropriate records to include student training record, student logbook, and computer records.

8. Ensure that course standards, training requirements, and objectives are met by all assigned students as stipulated in the applicable Training Manuals.

9. Initiate stage check requests for assigned students.

10. Responsible for the timely course completion of all flight students assigned, including completion of required paperwork.

11. Monitor the maintenance condition of the training aircraft, and inform Aircraft maintenance personnel of any safety issues, defects, unserviceability, inoperative items technical snags etc.

12. Recommend curriculum and courseware improvements when appropriate and develop new curriculum or courseware as assigned.

13. Impart theoretical knowledge instruction in the aircraft technical for the Aircraft

14. Assist CFI & HT on any training activities as required by them

15. Verify the student eligibility and requirements for CAR FCL licence issue

16. Update his/her own records and maintain the required currencies of licenses, rating certifications etc.

17. Coordinate with flight operations for flight booking for the students and issue necessary authorizations for the each flight sorties concerned

JOB REQUIREMENT

1. Must have a current CPL-IR/ATPL on Aeroplanes

2. Flight Instructor Rating, Airplane/ Helicopter Single Engine Piston Land or Flight Instructor Rating, Airplane Single Engine Turbine Land

3. Minimum 1500 hours of Instructional experience

4. Preference given to Instrument Flight Instructor, Multi-Engine Instructor.

5. Must hold a current Class 1 Medical Certificate and must be in a condition to pass GCAA class 1 Medical.

6. Licenses and IR shall be current.

7. ELP Level Minimum 5

8. Accident free record

As our Cabin Crew, your responsibility will be: 

  • Execution of duties that are related to the safety of the aircraft and its guests
  • Ensure cabin safety under the overall authority and responsibility of the Pilot in Command (PIC). (ie. the safety of the passengers and security of cabin load and galleys)
  • Maintain a thorough working knowledge of Cabin Crew emergency drills and procedures as laid down in the Safety Emergency Procedures (SEP) Manual. In the event of an emergency, he/she is responsible for putting into effect the relevant procedures and emergency drills
  • Report to the PIC any incident that has endangered or could have endangered the safety of the operations
  • Maintain high standards of public conduct whilst in circumstances in which they could reasonably be recognized as being Company crew
  • Liaison between the guests and the flight crew to provide optimum comfort and services to the Company’s customers
  • Refrain from making attempts to evade foreign customs, immigration or health regulations, and from causing any unauthorized package, person, or other item of load to be carried in any Company aircraft
  • Ensure that all galley equipment, catering stores, dry stores, and loose equipment on board are properly and securely stowed, while carrying out pre-flight routine inspections of the aircraft and its equipment as prescribed by the Operations Manual and Cabin Crew Safety Procedures Manual
  • Ensure that all passengers are properly and completely briefed as prescribed by the Operations Manual and Safety Emergency Procedures (SEP) Manual, and guarantee that all appropriate and necessary Ship’s papers are on board the aircraft before its doors are closed for departure
  • Meticulously carrying out such appropriate emergency procedures in an emergency situation, as defined in the Operations Manual and Cabin Crew Policy Manual
  • Complete any reports and records that the Company or any other responsible authority may require
  • Make entries concerning cabin defects in the Cabin Defects Log as appropriate
  • Take all reasonable precautions to ensure proper security of galley equipment, bar boxes, catering stores, dry stores, and airplane loose equipment
  • Complete any required costumes, immigration, and health formalities

You will have also following role related responsibilities: 

  • Strengthen the Airasia brand image and customer advocacy
  • Adopt Airasia’s culture and follow Airasia’s desired behavior
  • Ensure adequate self-development, and sufficient training undertaken to fulfill accountabilities
  • Follow working procedures and ensure SOP compliance
  • Support the Company safety programs
  • Report safety hazards and participate in Safety Services Department trainings pertinent to the job scope
  • Maintain the Company’s standards as an Allstar

  • Teeth must be clear with no braces, visible damages/decay and crookedness
  • Weight and height must be symmetrical and within BMI considerations 
  • Body Mass Index (BMI) at 18.5-22 for females and 18.5-23 for male
  • High minimum at 160 cm for female and 170 cm for male

Provide engineering support and coverage to Flight Training, Cabin Crew Training and In-Flight Services Training devices. Involved in complex fault rectification and update of overall performance and fidelity of devices. Operate within time constraints on equipment with a high capital value.

Job Outline

  • Resolve any defects on Training Devices using specialist knowledge and engineering principles, working within established department procedures and safety regulations. Continually assess operational working practices/procedures and make recommendations for improvement as required.
  • Following department procedures, prepare Training Devices for use and at the end of training sessions, meet crews for feedback on device effectiveness. Attend to any unscheduled interruption of training to minimise downtime.
  • Maintain hardware and software configuration of Training Devices to ensure the integrity of device performance and simulation fidelity. Must review, propose, plan and execute cost efficient solutions and alternatives to complex technical problems.
  • Perform objective and subjective testing of Training Device in line with regulatory and department requirements. Identify, record and resolve performance deficiencies that arise.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance tasks and record in accordance with department procedures. Document and record all performed tasks and identify parts used, highlighting any shortages for re-stocking.
  • Lead Technicians in complex mechanical or electrical repair and overhaul tasks.
  • Conduct shift handovers and the exchange of information between shifts to ensure work continuity. Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration within the team to deliver the standard of service required, and enabling stakeholders to plan accordingly.
  • Liaise with equipment suppliers, internal and external contractors to manage training device defect resolution. Ensure supplier technical contractors are aware of and work in accordance with department procedures and safety regulations. May be involved in the acquisition and acceptance of new training devices or the update of existing training devices working within time and budget constraints.
  • Provide training for colleagues. Maintain, update and expand own skill set through a combination of formal training, self-study and on job training.
  • Support ongoing Regulatory Authority simulator qualifications, associated with preparing the Training Device, producing Regulatory reports and participating the evaluation sessions and debriefs with internal and external

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)

Knowledge and Skills

  • Degree in Engineering (preferably Aeronautical).
  • Alternatively, academic requirements may be substituted for proven experience and expertise gained within the industry.
  • The jobholder requires at least 2 years professional experience within the simulation and training equipment industry.
  • The jobholder should have a track record of working in medium to large technical organisations.
  • The jobholder should be capable of producing results in multidisciplinary environments in accordance to regulatory requirements, industry and organisation standards
