Key Responsibilities

• Operational Accountabilities
• Working on a shift basis, conduct and certify routine and non-routine maintenance for Cathay Group aircraft in accordance with the HKAR-145 and company requirements
• Working on a shift basis, conduct and certify routine and non-routine maintenance for third party customer aircraft (if applicable) in accordance with the appropriate national authority and customer requirements 
• Perform local or overseas operational relief duties or the duties of an Aircraft Technician / Aircraft Mechanic as required and in accordance with the relevant Job Description  
• Monitor third party supplier performance (technical, ramp services, de-icing, refueling etc), follow up and rectify any operational issues in a timely manner
• Execute the contingency plans and support ad hoc operational requirements such as diversions, charters, ad hoc aircraft type changes, major disruption recovery, etc.
• Ensure the availability, serviceability and cleanliness of station ground equipment, vehicles and facilities  
• Coordinate and support Cathay Quality Assurance, Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department, third party audits, follow up audit findings and implement mitigations to prevent re-occurrence 
• Perform station administration and ensure station documentations / passes are up-to-date and valid 
• Ensure the team is compliant with local Occupational Health & Safety standards and all regulations / guidelines
• Help to embrace a continuous improvement culture through quality innovation, teamwork, and lean processes to drive operational efficiency, productivity and commercial improvement
• Any other reasonable task as requested including non-operational duties and projects 
• Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required

Academic qualifications

• HKAR-66 B1 or B2 license, or any equivalent license acceptable in HKAR-2
• Minimum of 1 current aircraft type authorisation, preferably on the type operated by Cathay and level 3 trained 
• Knowledge, skills, training and experience
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an aircraft maintenance environment
• Strong operation knowledge of aircraft maintenance and ground handling activities 
• Good knowledge of Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department airworthiness regulations 
• Good business awareness
• Good communication skills

Captains

• Minimum of 3000 hrs command time on multi-crew, multi-engine commercial jet aircraft with MTOW of 50 tonnes or more
• A valid ICAO ATPL with an unrestricted class one medical certificate issued by the same authority
• Fluency in English, equivalent to ICAO English level 5 or above
• Minimum of 1000 hrs of wide body aircraft experience in the last 3 years
• Flown at least 150 hrs in command within the last 12 months
• Currently type rated as a commander on an aircraft such as A340/B737, or larger

First Officer

• Minimum of 2000 hrs on MTOW ≥ 20T
• A valid ICAO ATPL with an unrestricted class one medical certificate issued by the same authority
• English language fluency to ICAO English level 4 or above
• Flown at least 150 hrs within the last 12 months on an aircraft with MTOW ≥ 20T

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Required to act as a Cabin attendant (CA) as necessary to ensure adequate fleet coverage - to be licensed on A6 aircraft and be trained on the fleet types.
• In conjunction with Lead Commander (LC), monitoring and supervising Operational Safety and Service oversight of the fleet Cabin attendants.
• Coaching of CAs for improvement, counselling, and mentoring.
• In conjunction with Flight Operations Manager (FOM) and Lead Commanders, proactively manages CA and Pool Leave, coverage and leave balances.
• Manages the CA Pool and freelance coverage and contracts:
•  - contracts are signed off by the Account Manager.
•  - commercial invoices are raised where necessary monthly, keeping accurate control of all             charges and cost centres.
• CA recruitment including interviewing, selection, and training plans.
• Maintains and oversees agreed CA service standards, policies, and procedures, including catering, and uniforms.
• Developing and delivering CA service training in line with Company and Group standards.
• Owns and maintains all Cabin related Manuals and documents such as Cabin Safety Manual, checklists, safety cards, procedures etc.
• Becoming a subject matter expert on the CA Manual, Company policies and procedures.
• Ensures Passenger profiles and cabin preferences are clearly documented.
• Proactively Coordinates training schedules, when necessary, with Training Department and Lead Commanders. Delivers OCC training.
• NOTE: All CA regulatory/safety Training is controlled, monitored, and scheduled by crew training (CT), as well as the LC.
• Attending Industry CA meetings/seminars and briefing the management team of changes or issues.
• In conjunction with LCs, Conducting CA performance reviews, line checks and cabin inspections.
• Work closely with QA, Cabin Focal, regulatory inspectors, and auditors – and completion of applicable CAPAs within prescribed time scales.
• Performs and records CA related Quality Inspections on aircraft and the department.
• Becomes knowledgeable on the fleet’s Cabin Entertainment systems.
• Supports Aircraft Entry into service and Exit from Service projects including cabin Galley equipment, flat ware, loose equipment, and provisions.
• Ensure mass and balance changes related to cabin items/equipment are identified, performed, and notified to Flight operations in a timely manner.
• Manages Off Aircraft Cabin equipment storage.
• Conducts 6 monthly CA meetings and document all minutes of the meeting.
• Actively Promotes a Just safety and reporting culture.
• Within 6 months, will gain the necessary experience and undertake the required training as well as develop the relationships sufficiently to be appointed and act as GCAA Cabin Focal responsible for all cabin safety and regulatory matters.
• OPS Admin support when necessary and possible.
• Understand, monitor, and support compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which you are involved.
