Fake! Cabin crew recruitment scam using Malindo Air’s name

PETALING JAYA (Bernama): Malindo Air would like to alert the public to a cabin crew recruitment scam that uses the airline’s brand without authorisation, to lure people into a scheme.

Scammers are circulating the “recruitment notice” through social media, offering cabin crew intake through their academy with a fee of RM50.

The applicant will get a waiver to that fee by getting four other friends to join.

Malindo Air strongly advises the public to disregard such scams as the airline does not engage any external agent for recruitment, nor does it charge for job interviews.

Malindo Air said it would not be held liable for any claims pertaining to the false scheme. All official announcements of Malindo Air are made via the airline's official channels and credible mass media, it added.

Malindo Air said it would not hesitate to take legal action against individuals or groups who organise illegal schemes using the Malindo Air brand.

Essential Requirements

• Minimally 18 years old (as required by regulations in Air Navigation Order).
• Legally entitled to work in Singapore upon completion of training.
• GCE 'O' level and above. A minimum of 5 Credits in the GCE 'O' level or its equivalent at one sitting. These must include English, Mathematics and a Science subject, preferably Physics.
• Qualify for Class I & II unrestricted medical certification as approved by the Civil Aviation Medical Board (CAMB).
• Good visual acuity of at least 6/60 without optical aid, correctable to 6/6 and not colour blind.
• Be able to commit to a period of 18 months of consecutive training with no disruption.
• Physically and mentally fit.

DragonAir Pilot Recruitment - Direct Entry First Officer ( Hong Kong )

By joining Cathay Dragon as a pilot, you will operate short haul and regional flights. Apply now to become a Hong Kong-based First Officer if you meet the following requirements:

• Current ICAO Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL)
• At least 3,000 hours flying experience in total, including either 500 jet hours or 1,000 multi-engine turbo prop hours in command of a multi crew operation
• The total hour requirement maybe reduced for A320/A330 rated individuals, with time on type
• Valid Class 1 medical certificate
• ICAO English language proficiency level 4 or above
• Non-type rated are welcome to apply

Some of the training you will go through to be ready to fly our fleet include:

• Type rating training for Cathay Dragon’s Airbus A320/1 or A330 fleets conducted in the Cathay Pacific Group Flight Training Centre in Hong Kong
• Airbus type-rated pilots to complete a short course for either fleet, and non-Airbus type-rated pilots to complete a full conversion course
• Line Flying Under Supervision training prior to release to line operations tailored to the new-joining pilot’s experience level, with an emphasis on maximum exposure to Cathay Dragon’s varied operating environment
• Further training programmes to assist first officers in developing command skills prior to commencing a command upgrade course

REQUIREMENTS

• Holds a valid ATPL recognised by CAAS
• Minimum 1500 total flying hours on commercial jet aircraft. Preference will be given to applicants with previous flight experience on a commercial aircraft equipped with glass cockpit technology, including FMS
• Must possess a valid certificate for the following:
   o Class 1 Medical (recognised or can be validated by CAAS)
   o ICAO English Level 5 or above
   o Certificate of Test – Multi-Engine Instrument Rating
• Myopia of not more than 600 degrees and astigmatism of not more than 200 degrees per eye
