Licence Conversion - UK Part-FCL Licence

Before joining British Airways you must hold a UK Part-FCL Licence.  

The process of transferring from EASA Part-FCL to UK Part-FCL is strictly time limited and the latest guidance for licence conversion is issued on the CAA website and can be found using the link below.

Whilst we can progress your application without a UK licence, we are unable to make a formal offer until you are in possession of one.

Crew will be able to earn up to £28,000 a year with flying/duty pay and a tax-fee subsistence allowance (basic pay is £16,000), as well as generous company benefits, including Staff Travel benefits from day 1 of joining us.

Salary, Bonuses & Benefits

Being part of our Heathrow Cabin Crew can be tough and tiring. You might spend birthdays, Christmases, Eid and Ramadan in the air. But there’s no life like this, and it’s rewarding in so many ways. We’ll make sure you’ll receive a competitive salary, the potential to earn bonuses and generous company benefits, for starters

As a Heathrow Cabin Crew you will have the potential to earn, on average, a reward package of between £23,000 and £28,000 per annum. This comprises of a starting salary of £16,000 per annum, an hourly payment when you are flying, bonuses for achieving your performance targets and commission for Inflight Retail sales. Annual leave starting at 30 days per year rising to 34 days per year.

Bonus

You will receive an hourly payment when you’re flying and on duty. A subsistence allowance when you fly and have the opportunity to earn a performance bonus, plus commission on inflight retail and Buy on Board sales.

British Airways Cadet Programme

The British Airways Cadet Programme is open and gives you the opportunity to start your training to become a Pilot in the future with British Airways.
Once you have successfully completed your training, you can look forward to continuing your journey with one of the world’s leading airlines and taking to the skies as a first officer on one of our London-based short haul fleets.
If you can see yourself expertly navigating one of our aircraft across the globe, delivering world-leading levels of safety, security, and customer service, then this Cadet Programme may be for you.
We are offering two routes Multi Pilots Licence (MPL) and a full Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL), both of which will be fully self-funded, the entry criteria to both routes are detailed below.
THE PROGRAMME
The programme involves L3 Commercial Training Solutions (CTS) and British Airways working together to find and select the most able aspiring pilots who will, if successful, be offered a place on a MPL or ATPL training programme, along with a conditional offer of a contract of employment as a British Airways first officer.
What follows will be a challenging course that will take you from little or no experience, to the first officer’s seat on our short haul aircraft; currently the Airbus A320. Training on this programme will involve many hundreds of hours of ground school study, flying training, jet orientation on a modern flight simulator and finally a type rating at the British Airways approved supplier.

As one of our pilots you’ll see the world, and this means that wherever you go you’ll be an ambassador for British Airways. The Direct Entry Pilot Scheme is for experienced high calibre pilots who want to develop their careers with one of the most progressive international airlines in the business.

The Individual

Requirements for all pilots:
  • A current JAR-FCL or  EASA Flight Crew Licence with Class 1 medical (please note: you will need a UK issued EASA licence when you join British Airways) 
  • ICAO Level 6 proficiency in English language
  • A valid passport (with minimum of 12 months before expiry date) allowing unrestricted worldwide travel
  • The unrestricted right to live and work in the UK
To be considered for our current vacancies you will need:
  • To hold a current type rating and a minimum of 500 hours, or the required sectors, on an aircraft that satisfies CAP 804 FCL.730.A - Zero Flight Time Training course requirement. We would be particularly interested in hearing from candidates operating the A320/A350/747/757/767/777/787

Mandarin language speaking cabin crew - British Airways

Job Purpose

This is a fantastic opportunity for Mandarin Language Speakers to join our Mixed Fleet where you have the chance to excel and be recognised for your individual contribution as Cabin Crew. If you aspire to be the very best, you are customer focused and work well as part of a team, then this could be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.
 
You will be customer services driven and you’ll build on your previous customer service experience and be encouraged to accept responsibility for the delivery of excellent customer service on-board provided in both English and Mandarin. You’ll have the opportunity to develop new skills, take control of your career path and be recognised and rewarded for the outstanding performance you demonstrate.

As a Mandarin Language Speaker, your flying will be to all the Mixed Fleet destinations one of which will be Singapore. You will have trips of up to 9 nights away from your home base at London Heathrow.
 

This unique opportunity will provide you with the chance to immerse yourself in Chinese culture, enhancing the outstanding customer service on board for our Chinese, Mandarin speaking customers. 

Another benefit will be the opportunity to regularly travel to Singapore (and Sydney). For others, it would provide a chance to reconnect regularly with friends or family in Singapore (and Sydney).
