FlyScoot Cabin Crew Interview process and stages - ( Updated Version 2018 )

Hi my fellow cabin crew wannabes and Flygosh readers! I have been a loyal reader of Flygosh for 4 years by now, and never have I ever thought that one day I am able to contribute something here. So, today I would like to share my experience of FlyScoot latest cabin crew interview which were recently held in Malaysia on 12th August 2018.

Pre-Selection/Online interview

Unlike other airline, you have to go through an online interview before you can attend their walk-in interview. I saw their job posting about cabin crew at FlyGosh and thought to myself, ‘Why not give it a try?’ And so I did, I applied online and send in my resume, academic certificates and full body photo.

If you’re shortlisted, they will inform you by email within two weeks. For me, it only took about 2 days until they got back to me with the information of their online assessment. It is recommended that you do the online assessment at a quiet place with a stable internet connection and no disturbance or whatsoever so you can fully concentrate on your assessment.

The 5 assessments which you are required to complete are as follows:

1. Shapes - Measurement of Competencies (shapes): This questionnaire measures preferred behavioural style in the workplace. This questionnaire is untimed, however most people take approximately 15 minutes to complete it.

2. Verbal Reasoning (admin compact): This assessment measures ability to process verbal information. This test is timed for 6 minutes.

3. Scales eql(a) - Numeracy: This test measures ability to complete basic calculations, and is timed for 5 minutes.

4. Scales ix - Logical Reasoning: This test measures logical reasoning ability and is timed for 5 minutes.

5. Cabin Crew SJQ: This assessment presents various realistic scenarios for you to indicate a course of action depending on each scenario. This assessment is untimed but should take 15 minutes to complete.

The assessment itself was not tough but it does require full concentration to complete as some of the assessments are timed and there’s no time for you to tool around. (Oh and please complete your assessment using your laptop or desktop computer as there’s some part of the assessments that can’t be done using mobile phone!) Within one week after you have done your assessment, they will inform you if you passed your online assessment.

There is suppose to be a video interview after you passed the online assessment like what they stated in the email where they will need you to record yourself answering questions that they give you, however, that is not my case (I’ve asked some candidates at the walk-in interview and they did not go through a video interview as well) and I get an invitation email directly to the assessment instead.

And this is what you should bring for the walk in interview:

Singapore Airlines Cabin Crew Interview process and stages - ( Updated Version 2018 )

Hi all cabin crew wannabes and fans of Fly Gosh, I have been benefiting from this awesome website and thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to contribute back! I will be sharing on my latest experiences in the Singapore Airlines’ cabin crew walk-in recruitment held on 14 July 2018 at the Pullman Hotel in Kuala Lumpur. I’ve also previously attended an earlier version held at Sunway Resorts & Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on 30 June 2018, but was unsuccessful at Round 3.

I hope this article will provide useful information about SIA interview process and questions (I believe everyone are curious what questions they will ask, BUT, their questions are really random. There’s very low percentage that you would got the same questions with what you read from other articles)

Besides, as from what I noticed, SIA is actually having interviews in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur quite frequent this year, 2018. Which is about once every 2 weeks. I encourage everyone to check out their official website frequently (about one day once is good) for an instant update on their interview dates and location.

-First attempt-
Pre-round (Height check, Document check and Queuing for number)
I arrived the venue about 9am and there are already quite amount of people in front of me. About 100 (?) and the crowd keep coming in after me. However, the crowd is not as packed as I thought. In this round, you will get your height measured before you hand in your application form and other documents.

There are a few people were asked to leave because their height did not meet the requirement. Once you got you height measured, they will either put a tick on your application form where you filled your height or they will rewrite the new figure that they just measured for you. One thing to take note here, prepare the following documents when you’re about to hand in your form:

1) Application form
2) A passport sized photo
3) Copy of your IC
4) Copy of your highest education certificates
(If you have transcript you may prepare it too)

The other documents such as copy of passports, birth cert and etc they mentioned in the website, they will be using it only after you got through all the interview rounds. Ps: Don’t forget to bring your originals for all your documents! They need it to verify your documents 
You will get a number after handing in your documents and don’t forget to stick it on the left side of your chest!

1st Round: Random Question
This is the round where 10 of you will enter together and interviewers will throw you a super random question.

Question: What is your favourite local breakfast and why?
I really got stunned because I’m not a breakfast person OMG. But anyways the first thing popped in my mind was Nasi Lemak. It’s a common answer and I knew someone would answered the same selection as mine, but don’t be panic. It is okay that you got a same answer with the others, but make sure to make your reasons clear and why you loved it.

Don’t forget that you have to make a SHORT introduction of yourself before answering the question. I bold it to make sure everyone don’t make the mistake of being too long-winded while introducing yourself. (I have experienced that where there are interviewees being too long-winded and the interviewers cut the person off and ask the rest to make their speech short)

It was really surprising that only 3 of us got through out of 10 person. (There are some we thought that they answered quite well but didn’t get selected.)

2nd round: Debate round
