BATS Aviation Recruitment - Assistant Flight Instructor AFI, Flight Instructor FI and Chief Flying Instructor CFI ( Open to all nationalities )

BATS Aviation would like to invite suitable candidates for the position of Assistant Flight Instructor AFI, Flight Instructor FI and Chief Flying Instructor CFI for their Single Engine Piper Warrior PA-28 and Multi Engine Piper Warrior PA-44 . This opportunity is open to all nationalities and will be based in Malaysia.

ASSISTANT FLIGHT INSTRUCTORS (AFI)

AFIs are responsible to the CFI in all aspects of Flight Training. Each AFI will be assigned to an FI for supervision and guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS OF ASSISTANT FLIGHT INSTRUCTORS

The AFI shall:

a. Be at least 21 years of age;
b. hold at least a CPL issued under Regulation 59 of MCAR; 
c. hold or have held an IR of an aeroplane;
d. give proof of their competency by giving a test mass brief based on material they have developed for the applicable subject;
e. demonstrate competency of airborne instructional technique. Assessment to be done by HOT or CFI, or designated FI.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF ASSISTANT FLIGHT INSTRUCTORS

Responsibilities of AFIs shall include:

a. assisting in planning, coordinating and monitoring student’s programme;
b. assisting in conducting mass brief, pre-flight brief and post flight brief;
c. assisting in conducting flight training in accordance with approved syllabus:
d. assisting CFI in monitoring student’s training progress;
e. completing student’s FTR accordingly;
f. assisting in developing and monitoring the highest possible personal qualities and discipline of the students.


FLIGHT INSTRUCTORS

FIs are responsible to the CFI in all aspects of Flight Training.

QUALIFICATIONS OF FLIGHT INSTRUCTORS

The FI shall:

a. Be at least 21 years of age;
b. hold at least a CPL issued under Regulation 59 of MCAR; 
c. hold or have held an Instrument Rating (IR) of an aeroplane;
d. give proof of their competency by giving a test mass brief based on material they have developed for the applicable subject;
e. demonstrate competency of airborne instructional technique. Assessment to be done by HOT or CFI.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF FLIGHT INSTRUCTORS

Responsibilities of FIs shall include:

CHIEF FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR (CFI)

CFI is the head of flying training. He is responsible to the Head of Training (HOT) to manage flying training in accordance with the flying syllabus of BATS Aviation.

QUALIFICATIONS OF CHIEF FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR

The CFI shall:

a. hold the highest professional license related to the flying training courses conducted and hold the rating(s) related to the flying training courses conducted;
b. hold a flight instructor rating for all of the other types of the aircraft used on the course; 
c. have completed 1000 hours pilot-in-command (“PIC”) of which a minimum of 500 hours shall be on Instructional flying duties related to the flying courses conducted of which 200 hours may be instrument flight time
.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF CHIEF FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR

Responsibilities of CFI shall include:

a. supervision and standardisation of all instructors reporting to him and the provision of instructor briefing materials;
b. monitor students flight instruction records. The CFI shall be responsible for ensuring that suitable arrangement is in place for the signing of all course completion certificates for any course offered by the school;
c. prepare student’s flight records which shall be submitted to the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) every quarterly;
d. make arrangements acceptable to the CAAM for periodic standardization training and such training is to be detailed within the Approved Training Organisation’s (ATO) Training & Procedure Manual (TPM). These requirements are in addition to the requirements outlined in Flight Operations Directive (FOD) – FCL relating to Instructor and Examiner currency;
e. coordinate aircraft requirement with the HOT;
f. prepare flying training programme; 
g. verify all flight crew log book monthly

Aircraft operation by BATS Aviation are as follows:

a. Single Engine Piper Warrior PA-28
b. Multi Engine Piper Warrior PA-44
