747-400 (500+ hours) Type Rated First Officer - Virgin Atlantic


In a nutshell

When assigned to a crew you will act as Co-Pilot, assisting the Commander in the safe and efficient conduct of a flight.

When not assigned to a crew, the Co-Pilot is responsible to and reports to their Fleet Manager.

Day to day

·         To support the Commander in the proper standard of crew discipline, conduct and personal appearance relating to any (and all) Company-related activities.

·         To volunteer such advice, information and explanation from the Commander as may contribute to the safe and efficient conduct of the flight.

·         To seek and receive such information and explanation from the Commander as is necessary for the Co-Pilot to fulfil their function.

·         To maintain their licence in accordance with the professional and medical standards required by the CAA and the Company.

·         To maintain familiarity with UK and International air legislation and agreed aviation practices and procedures.

·         To maintain familiarity with those provisions of the Company Operations Manual which are necessary to fulfil their function.

·         To maintain and enhance the Virgin Atlantic brand reputation.

About you

We are looking for First Officers holding a current Boeing 747-400 type rating.  The successful candidate will need to have a minimum of 3,000 hours total flying time including at least 500 hours on the 747-400 type.

You must hold a current UK Class one Medical and a full EASA ATPL licence (UK issue) - a frozen APTL is acceptable.

You should be able to demonstrate a high level of fluency in English (ICAO level 6 English Proficiency).  You will also have the unrestricted right to live and work in the UK.
